Steve "Squeaky" Walker, one of the last Americans killed in World War II, had his remains carried on the Blue Bayou. You heard he was called Squeaky because he didn't smoke, drink, or gamble and remained devoted to his fiance, writing to her everyday.

You heard Walker joined the 803rd Tank Destroyer Battalion after the Invasion of Normandy in May of 1945.

You also heard that Walker met his best friend Pfc. Charley Havlet in that division, and Havlet would be considered the last American killed in the European Theater.
